I WOULD JUST HIGHLIGHT SOME OF THE CRE ACTIVITIES THAT HAVE TAKEN PLACE IN THE MONTH OF MAY AS IT RELATES TO NEW LIFE CHILDCARE AND EDUCATIONAL CENTER.
LOCATED ON 4 4 4 0 OAKLAND PARK BOULEVARD.
THAT IS ONE OF THE BUSINESSES THAT RECEIVE FUNDS FROM THE AREA BOARD TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS TO INCLUDE PAINTING THE BUILDING, NEW WINDOWS AND DOORS, STRUCTURAL CHANGES FOR A NEW SIGN AND LANDSCAPING.
THEY'RE MOVING SWIFTLY THROUGH THE PROJECT.
THE OWNER WAS HOPING THAT THEY WOULD BE DONE BY THE END OF JUNE, HOWEVER, IT HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO JULY AND THEY ARE PRETTY CONFIDENT THAT THAT PROJECT WILL BE DONE AND WE WILL REPORT BACK WITH A CON WITH THE AFTER.
I JUST WANTED TO ASK THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, IS IT ONE OF TWO THAT YOU'RE LOOKING AT? OR TWO OF TWO DO YOU, MR. CHAIR? IT IS ONE OF TWO AND I'M ESSENTIALLY JUST HIGHLIGHTING SOME OF THE ACTIVITIES, NOT NECESSARILY GOING IN THE ORDER OF THE REPORT.

AND OF COURSE, WE'RE, THERE ARE TWO LARGE SIZE PROPERTIES, SO WE WON'T NECESSARILY BE HERE AT THE NEXT MEETING, HOWEVER, IT IS OUR HOPE TO DEFINITELY MEET WITH THE CRA BOARD BY THE END OF THE YEAR TO PRESENT THEIR FUNDING REQUEST FOR THE CHILDREN'S GARDEN.
AS YOU KNOW, THE CONTRACTOR WHO IS USING THAT SITE AS A STAGING AREA FOR THE CITY'S DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IS WORKING ON FINISHING UP THEIR PARTICULAR PROJECT.
THERE WAS AN EXTENSION BASED UPON THE APPROVAL FROM THE BOARD UP TO THE END OF AUGUST.
PLEASE NOTE THAT IN SEPTEMBER WE WILL COME BACK BEFORE YOU TO TALK ABOUT THE DISPOSITION OF THAT PARTICULAR PROPERTY TO GIVE YOU THE PROCESS AS WELL AS TO GIVE YOU A COMPLETION DATE IF ALL GOES WELL WITH THE SALE OF THE CHILDREN'S GARDEN.

ONCE THE SCOPE IS DEVELOPED, WE WILL START THE PROCESS OF IDENTIFYING A CONTRACTOR, GETTING QUOTES SO THAT THEY CAN COMPLETE THE WORK FOR THE NORTHWEST 31ST AVENUE BUFFER WALL PROJECT.
WE ARE, I STAFF IS IDENTIFYING A FIRM TO SURVEY THE AREA AS WELL AS EACH OF THE PROPERTIES.
THE CRA ATTORNEY HAS THE EASEMENT AGREEMENTS, WHICH ARE NEEDED IN ORDER FOR US TO SURVEY THE PROPERTIES.
WE'VE ALREADY SPOKEN WITH THE CITY ATTORNEY BECAUSE THE EASEMENT AGREEMENTS WILL BE BETWEEN THE CITY OF LAUDERDALE LAKES AND THE PROPERTY OWNER, BUT WE'RE JUST GIVING IT TO THE CRA ATTORNEY JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO ISSUES ON THE CRA SIDE.
ADDITIONAL OUTREACH WILL BE CONDUCTED IN ORDER TO REACH THE OTHER PROPERTY OWNERS WHO WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REACH, AS WELL AS TO PROMOTE THE PROJECT SO THAT THE COMMUNITY WILL KNOW THAT A NORTHWEST 31ST AVENUE BUFFER WALL PROJECT IS GOING TO BE UNDERWAY AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME FOR THE WESTGATE SOUTH STREET GATE PROJECT.
AS YOU KNOW, THAT IS A PROJECT FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD THAT IS IN THE BACK OF THE WALMART ALONG OAKLAND PARK BOULEVARD AND NORTHWEST 43RD TERRACE, THAT NEIGHBORHOOD IN THAT AREA.
AND RIGHT NOW, STAFF IS EVALUATING THE APPROACH THAT WILL BE USED FOR THE WORK OR THAT WILL BE DONE.
IT WILL EITHER BE A DESIGN AND THEN WE'LL IDENTIFY A CONTRACTOR AFTER THAT, OR IT WILL BE COMBINED, WHEREAS WE WILL HIRE SOMEONE TO DESIGN IT AS WELL AS

DO THE CONSTRUCTION WORK AND YOU'LL BE NOTIFIED ACCORDINGLY.FOR THE NORTHWEST 30TH TERRACE ROADWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT STAFF IS COORDINATING WITH OUR PROCUREMENT MANAGER IN ORDER TO IDENTIFY A FIRM TO WORK ON THE OVERALL DESIGN FOR THAT PROJECT.
FOR VINCENT TORRES MEMORIAL PARK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT STAFF HAS ALREADY MET WITH THE PARKS STAFF AND THEY HAVE COME UP WITH A RECOMMENDATION AS TO IMPROVEMENTS THAT WILL BE NEEDED AT THE PARK.
AND AS A RESULT OF THAT, THE SCOPE OF WORK WILL BE DEVELOPED ONCE WE HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE ALL OF THE IMPROVEMENTS THAT WILL BE NEEDED IN ORDER FOR US TO DEFINITELY ENHANCE THE PARK.
SOMEBODY IMPROVEMENTS DATE INCLUDE CHANGING THE FIELD FROM THE GRASSY AREA TO THE ARTIFICIAL TURF, ADDING NEW LIGHTING, CHANGING OUT THE SEATING, EXPANDING THE SEATING, UM, CHANGE, IMPROVING THE BUILDING THAT IS THERE WHERE STAFF IS LOCATED, AND JUST PRESENTING OPPORTUNITIES TO HAVE MORE SPORTS AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THERE.
